Diane Matte is one of the founders of the Concertation des luttes contre l'exploitation sexuelle, which was launched on 16 May 2005. She has held the position of community organiser and spokesperson since 2008. She has worked on a daily basis with women who have experienced prostitution. She has been a feminist activist and worker in the movement against male violence against women and the feminist movement in general for over forty years


She was the coordinator of the "Bread and Roses" Women's March Against Poverty in 1995. 


She was one of the initiators of the feminist action "World March of Women", which gave rise to a worldwide movement against poverty and violence against women. She coordinated the international secretariat of the March from 1997 to 2007. 


An early feminist abolitionist in Quebec, she continues to work against violence against women in all its forms.
